It’s Friday: Funday

It’s Friday Ya’ll!

I would be remiss if I did not bring up the fact that today is not a fun day for everyone. There are people here in the United States suffering from the aftermath of Hurricane Laura. Many blessings to you and your families.

As always, I hope that everyone is taking care of themselves, and staying as safe as possible in order to slow the spread of Covid-19. If anyone has tested positive, sick, or have family in that boat, many blessings to you.

My Friday/Funday is all about… The Race to Witch Mountain!

The Race to Witch Mountain debuted in March of 2009. It was directed by Andy Fickman and starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

The movie follows alien siblings who crash their spaceship near Las Vegas, Nevada. Secret government officials arrive, search for the craft and its occupants with the intention of harnessing their DNA and powers.

A former mob driver turn cab driver discovers Sara and Seth, the two aliens, in his cab. The aliens hire the driver (The Rock) to drive them to a secret location in search of their ship.

Now, I have always had an interest in other life in the universe. The fact is scientists are still trying to answer the question, was there another universe before this one? A theory is that there was and that the Big Bang caused it to collapse into a massive black hole.

With that being said, anything is possible.

Back to the movie. I loved that the aliens were humans, more enhanced but humans. That matches my idea of other life that maybe out there. I loved that they came in peace not seeking to annihilate our planet.

A friend of mine and I loved this film so much that in 2010 we wrote a part two novel version of the story of our own. I entered it into two contest. I didn’t win but the experience was amazing.
